There are an estimated 40 million injury-related visits to hospital emergency rooms annually. Eight million (10%) of these visits are sports-related, and 8 times that number, or 32 million people, self-treat at home for sports-related injuries.

Photizo Sport is effective in treating pain and inflammation associated with overuse injuries, for example, runners’ knee, shin splints, tennis and golfers elbow.

Photizo Sport stimulates healing, relieves pain, swelling and inflammation, reduces muscle spasms, and increases the blood and lymph vessel diameter, to ensure clearing of waste products and inflow of oxygen and nutrients in the treated areas.

Photizo Sport harnesses the healing power of red and infrared light at specific wavelengths and frequencies which are proven to be effective in accelerating the natural healing and restoration of muscles and ligaments.

Which conditions can Photizo Sport aid?

The cause of injuries such as golfer’s elbow, tennis elbow, shin splints and runner’s knee can vary from a single violent action (acute injury) to, more commonly, a repetitive stress injury where an action is performed repeatedly and pain gradually develops. In an acute injury, inflammation occurs without substantial tissue damage. However, in a repetitive stress situation, a person may experience damage to the tendon and surrounding soft tissue causing tissue degeneration over time.

Photizo Sport can be used to effectively treat the following conditions:

  • Achilles tendon rupture
  • Bursitis knee
  • Calf muscle tear
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Golfers elbow
  • ITB syndrome
  • Muscle strain
  • Flat feet
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Rotator cuff syndrome
  • RSI – Repetitive Strain Injury
  • Shin splints
  • Tennis elbow.

How does Photizo Sport work?

One of the beneficial characteristics of Photizo Sport’s red and infrared light is that it has the ability to promote and enhance healing, not just treat symptoms. The irradiation by the Photizo Sport triggers the natural repair mechanisms carried out by the body. Several of the mechanisms of action for red and infrared light therapy that works to alleviate pain and inflammation also plays an important role in tissue healing.

Human and animal studies have found elevated levels of endorphins (small proteins which block pain signals in nerves) in response to red and infrared light therapy.

The Photizo Sport’s LEDs produce a gentle and soothing warmth and can be used on any skin type or colour.
